Yorkshire. One of the most beautiful counties in England, home of Yorkshire puddings and Wensleydale cheese, the birthplace of Bram Stoker’s Dracula in Whitby, and where the Bronte sisters wrote so many classic novels. A county with beautiful scenery ranging from the Yorkshire Moors through to the Dales, places where bucolic peace and quiet is only ever interrupted by the sound of sheep grazing behind drystone walls and rivers cascading along the valleys.

Now, however, there’s a new sound roaring through Yorkshire… the sound of a mighty 6.2 litre 460hp Chevrolet LT1 V8 engine housed in a stunning body shape in a style reminiscent of the famed aero cars created in the 1930s by French coachbuilders.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the UK’s latest foray into the luxury automobile market… meet the incredible Eadon Green Zeclat.

The Alfa Romeo That Started it All

This incredible car’s journey started with an Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 as featured in the hit BBC TV series, Poirot. Felix Eaton, MD of Eadon Green, was watching an episode and fell in love with the classic cars of the 1930s.

These beauties were not simply modes of transport, they were in fact works of art. Surviving examples from that period rarely came up for sale, and those that did were so expensive that they were immediately snapped up as investments rather than used for their intended purpose: driving.

Eaton, to his credit, therefore set out to remedy this situation by designing and building a car that was modern in chassis and features, but which harked back to days gone by in terms of design.

Introducing the Spectacular Eadon Green Zeclat

At the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show, Eadon Green displayed the Black Cuillin (named after the Cuillin mountain range on the Isle of Skye in Scotland), a stunning V12 6.0-litre luxury coupe. Then at the same Geneva car show a year later, the world was introduced to the Zeclat, a car that would grace any cosmopolitan city with its elegance.

However, when you look more closely, clues such as the ground-hugging stance and the wide tires tell you that this is a car crying out for the open round. And when the 6.2 litre V8 starts up, there’s absolutely no doubt that this is a machine designed to be driven.

The Zeclat will take you from 0-60mph in an astounding 3.6 seconds. You have choices of Sport or Tour mode; the former allows you to feel the passion of the car as you cruise the roads effortlessly at speed, whilst in Tour mode you can drive gently taking in the scenery as passers-by admire the elegant lines of the car. In addition, you can select Weather mode, Eco mode and Tour mode.

Unique Aero-styling

Of course, as the car looks so good from the outside, it stands to reason that the occupants should feel good inside, too. And they sure do. The Zeclat has a unique “aero-style” wrap-around cockpit that allows the driver to control the driving dynamics, while the passenger has a switchgear for seats and heating/cooling ventilation.

The interior is clothed in hand-stitched leather using hides from Bridge of Weir Leather, a fine Scottish company established in 1905 that tans only the finest hides sourced from the best British heritage breeds.

All in all, Yorkshire has another classic to add to its many claims to fame. The Eadon Green Zeclat is a beautiful piece of machinery and sounds magnificent. A car that will be equally at home in the Yorkshire Dales as it would be parked outside the poshest of Belgravia hotels.
